Does anyone know where I can get a rear mech' guard which fits an adult frame. I have a guard which is designed for kid bikes (small size) but does not fit properly on an adult frame. The guard gets in way when you go into top gear.

    what is the bike?

as there are very few that will fit a proper mountain bike.

  • You could try a using a hanger banger.

You'd need to make sure you got the right one for your rear mech, if they make one for it.

Don't bother, if you ride off road it will increase the chance of hitting something (which may cause the guard to mash the mech), on road there shouldn't be any need, just don't drop your bike onto the ground on the drive side (or on the other side for that matter  ).
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

    I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
    Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result

    As stumpyjon says dont bother.

I used one for a few weeks in '84 (it came fitted) and i removed it when i had a puncture and it never went back on.

Hanger bangers i do not rate either.
