Im after some good all round shorts, Theyre gonna get most use riding to uni and back, but they also need to be nice and durable for the DH/FRing, and comfy for the XC jaunts. Any ideas? I was looking at the Mace Ignitions and the Sombrio Rogue Enduros. Are these any good? Budget is about £50 give or take. Cheers

Are you wanting something with a padded lycra inner short as well as the baggy outer, or are you going to use a separate liner?

i got the specialized trail shorts from my lbs. they come with a nice padded liner too. Also within your budget.

they get used probably 5 out of 7 days and no problems in nearly 6 months use.

  • Hi DHo dude,

I got a pair of Mace ignitions and think they are an ace short personally, tough buid ideal dh/fr/am,they look good and are comfortable. No they don't come with a padded liner.
The altura mayhem 3/4 are worth a look at as well, comfy, tough, lightand they come with a liner which is padded, mine cost £45 from Evan's, i wouldn't say that they would be ideal for dh but everything else and urban.

Hope that this helps a bit

Cheers all, I like the look of the Altura's if they've got a bit of padding in them they might be ideal. That said those Swobo's are a bit of alright too... decisions decisions....

Endura Singletrack - either the short ones (which I've got) or the 3/4 length ones (which I'm getting for Xmas!) - utterly brilliant and cheapish too.
