Hi all,
I'm currently saving and looking at 2008 bargains got it narrowed down to these....
http://paulscycles.co.uk/products.php?plid=m1b4s1p1733
http://www.ashcycles.com/power/index.ph ... urrency=BP
http://www.leisurewheels.co.uk/products ... 1b3s1p3465
http://www.leisurewheels.co.uk/products ... 1b3s1p3451
I mostly ride trail centres and need something that can handle some abuse as I'm 6ft and carrying a bit of excess padding!
Any suggestions/help?

Do you need all that travel and heft for trail centres? I would say your Marin looks ideal!
Any chance you can try any of them out?0 -
Perosnally, I'd rule out the Kona as being too heavy/freeridy for you needs.
Of the others, I would have thought you would need a large frame size so that only leaves the Pitch."Internet Forums - an amazing world where outright falsehoods become cyber-facts with a few witty key taps and a carefully placed emoticon."0 -
The pitch pro its 2009 model, evans and edinbrugh cycles both doin it for around £1170, I like mine only got it last week and think its good allrounder.Rolling on 09 specialized pitch pro0

Hi, i've got a spesh enduro (expert) and love it. i think its excellent for the trails! try before you buy though 'cos not everyone rates them as highly as i do!0

As Supersonic says, not sure you need 6" of travel for trail centres in the UK, it's just more weight to lug up the hills!
Have a look on tredz.co.uk, they're a bit cheaper that leisurewheels.
e.g.
Pitch Pro, £191.24 cheaper!!

I'd go for this:

All short travel full sussers between £1100 and £1300: http://www.tredz.co.uk/ProductList.asp?SearchString=&Filter=8|R%201100-1300
And £900-£1100: http://www.tredz.co.uk/ProductList.asp?SearchString=&Filter=8|Q%20900-1100
I'd also look at Giant Trance from Pauls Cycles or Tredz.[/url]Boardman Road Comp '08

Thanks everyone. Travel isn't really my primary requirement, was just looking for something that could that could handle some rough stuff. My wife keeps on telling me there's nothing wrong with what I've got but Ive got my mind set on something new. I think I'm gonna look at a test ride for a Spesh.Pitch Pro - http://heathy.pinkbike.com/album/My-Bike

At that price the Stumpjumper is an absolute bargain, this years model is £1600 and the spec is all but the same.
