Who are they and what do they do?
Does anyone know?

Not there this week. Maybe it's over, whatever it was.0

They used to be known as 'J.D.Whiskers'. As the advert says, you could send an 'SAE for price list', so you'd see what they do. They have unusually short working hours, with only Tuesdays, Thursdays and only the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of a month. They can't be making much of a living out of it.To err is human, but to make a real balls up takes a super computer.0

Brings back memories, i used to get all my stuff from them in the early eighties, they were great because you used to get 21 days to pay. At the time i was just starting out, and they were ideal . Ademortademort

Whiskers are still there although I understand that Joe died earlier in the year. Lotos of good Italian frames and wheels from the shop have appeared on the Welwyn Track over the years. They also had a shop somewhere in Edgware (I believe) that was managed for many years by Alan Ehpgrave and his son Steve worked at Goffs Oak.0

When I was first getting into cycling (late 70's............) they were THE place to go for Campag spares. You used to to be get everything down to the smallest bolt, in the days when we used to make things last (and they didn't change so often).0

I just visted Wiskers as it was recomended on this site that they still have Campag record threaded headsets (andhaving surfed the web in vain for ages). I'd never heard of the place before despite living only 13 miles or so away. It has some beatiful frames in stock including some steel pinarellos. Its totally dedicated to road bikes and most of the stock seems to be behind the counter - its all very retro. I'm guessing they serve the trade mostly as I can't see them getting much passing custom.0

Used to have a shop off Kilburn High St - there until the early 90's I think - can definitely remember buying Chorus stuff from them. Used to be the place for Italian frames, but didn't just stock Campag, Shimano (my first sighting of Dura Ace was in there), Mavic (when they did groupsets) everything. A real Aladin's cave - Would ride over from Hounslow for anything that Ken Ryall or Holdsworth didn't have in stock.0
