I've pretty much decided I'm going to get one of these torches.

Unless anyone has any reason not to?
Anyway I need the other bits - batteries, charger and mount. I'm looking at getting one or too batteries, a cheap-but-decent charger (if that exists?) and some way of mounting to the bars. The light is going to be taken on and off the bars on a regular basis so needs to be fairly robust and needs to fit OS bars. I'm looking at a lockblock or similar or jubilee clips ATM. Any reccomendations?

Theres no reason not too at the price, im running with a 3 cree q5 modded with a wide angle lens and a P7 for throw. Visit http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/for ... y.php?f=86 for all the information you need on using / modding this sort of light for bike use.
Im using a couple of these for mounting, same as twofish. For extra grip put a wrap of insulation tape around the bars.0 -

Only thing about that one is the assault crown - looks nasty if you wiped out with that on the bars. I think the ones further down that page are more popular on the forums ?0

anyone know how tis compares the MTE P7 that a lot of people rate?
cheers0 -
Meant to be a bit better! Dazzza, who seems to be a torch lighting god round these parts posted it a while back - some forum had beam shots of this bad boy and it looked really good. I prefer the silver finish too!"Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0

cheers, was out last night with my 2 tesco c and a romisen aa on my helmet, this arrangement is just not quite good enough, so might get one of those that you posted!0

mmm, I'm not sure.
I'd check out the other 3000 threads on these torches first
On a more serious note, it looks like the same torch that Dazzza has. He is about tonight.
Dazzza - got a new frame yet? Night rides are a bit thin on the ground @mo.Stumpjumper FSR 09/10 Pro Carbon, Genesis Vapour CX20 ('17)Carbon, Rose Xeon CW3000 '14, Raleigh R50

I puchased the MTE P7-D mainly because i have had a few MTE's and all have been good! The Trustfire F16 looks quite good, it has the same kind of design as the Fenix TK11 i think and one of the o-lights.
You cant go wrong with MTE though, most people seem to go for Sku 12060, i know it off the top of my head as it comes up in every forum im on!
I Just wish there was a was of mounting these to my TLD for DH in the dark!0 -
