How to setup rebound

Greetings.

Does anyone ever adjust their rebound? My RockShox (Dart3) have an adjuster but the manual is decidedly unhelpful in giving advice on how to tune it.

I don't really feel that I have a problem with it, but I would like to get the best performance that I can.

Any tips?

turn it to + to make the fork rebound slower
turn it to - to make it rebound quicker

You dont want the fork to top out when you pull the front wheel off te ground. You also don't want the fork to pack down on repeated hits. So you need to set the rebound somewhere in between.

  • Set it fully on, go for a rough ride with repeated hits and gradually reduce it until the fork doesn't pack down any more.

Or alternately, set it fully off, go for a rough ride and gradually increase it until you aren't bounced up by front wheel hits.
