I only noticed after taking away my trek 105 that the pointed clear plastic above the brake levers - where it says '105' - was cracked. It has got worse, as every time you lean the bike up against a wall it hits the plastic. It seems pretty hopelessly designed to me. Do they just break off in the end? I have noticed other systems are pretty exposed as well, but only 105 points forward making the plastic very vulnerable.

Hi, i think you can get those parts but they are not cheap, speak to your LBS.
I try not to let the brake levers touch anything. If leaning the bike against a wall make sure it is resting on the rear tyre and saddle so the bars only just touch and do not take any weight.
He is not the messiah, he is a very naughty boy !!
  • I'm facing the same problem, but with Ultegra. Yes they eventually break off. Yes it's very poorly designed. *shakes head* Campy does not have this problem.

Looked at replacements and they cost 8 POUND EACH!
    That's daylight robbery!!

EDIT: To help your search, I think they're called "name plates". Not many places stock them either.
