Well as the title suggests really, I was gonna keep it general but then thought it's a good price point if people are struggling for gifts for their cycling loved ones.

Not that I'm struggling to find anything for my dad at around this price of course :D

To kick off I've got some P handled Hex wrenches on mine

    I had the 1994 Paris-Roubaix DVD but apparently it's sold out. :(
    Winner: PTP Vuelta 2007
  • I desperately need some warm socks, better still if they turned out to be waterproof. It felt as if my feet had fell off whilst riding last weekend.

I can't believe I've just asked for socks for Christmas.....

There's usually something worth having on the Prendas 'nothing over £20 page'

They also do a 'under £10' page

At the risk of turning this into a list of book recommendations....however you can buy many of these for under a tenner at Amazon.

'Le Vélo de Ghislain Lambert' - (French with subtitles). Tragic and hysterically funny. Probably not to everyone's taste but in my view the best cycling film ever made.

'Paris-Roubaix: A Journey Through Hell' by Phillipe Bouvet, Pierre Callewaert, Jean-Luc Gatellier, and Serge Laget - Beautiful book on Paris-Roubaix with some great shots.

'In Search of Robert Millar' by Richard Moore. Great read.

'Lance Armstrong: Tour De Force 'by Dan Coyle - Another great writer though not from a cycling background. IMHO this is the best book on Armstrong and his former colleagues.

'The Hour' by Michael Hutchinson - One of my all time favourite cycling books. Very funny and brilliantly written.

'Put Me Back on My Bike: In Search of Tom Simpson' by William Fotheringham - Okay so you think oh no another drugs and cycling story but this is a great writer with a real understanding of cycling.

'The Flying Scotsman: The Graeme Obree Story' by Graeme Obree - Great book by the man himself. Read before you see the film, it's much better.

Just started reading this book last night.

A very troubled childhood, yet an amazing achiever at a young age. Chapter 3+ tonight.

  • I've asked for the Marmotte recce DVD

I've also just finished reading Heroes Villians and Velodromes and would recommend that to anyone with an interest in British Cyling, especially anyone who is around 30/35 so grew up being inspired by Boardman and Obree and has seen the progression of British Cycling from the outside.

An excellent book and a real insight into a unique man. If you think his childhood was troubled you wait until you get to his adult years. If he hadn't suffered with mental health problems he would have been the greatest cyclist of an era............. but then again, maybe his mental health problems are what enabled him to be so good?

And if you can stretch the budget a bit or shop on eBay then a pair of KCNC anodised aluminium jockey wheels are a perfect Christmas present. They're completely and utterly pointless but so lovely :D

Excellent book; had it for ages and read it at least twice, but still not seen the film adaptation. Worth buying on DVD?

The film is perfectly watchable but bears little or no resemblance to the 'truth' in the book.

It's OK, but I must admit I was a little disappointed. There's an unnecessary extra sub plot with Brian Cox as a sort of mentor.

A far better cycling film is 'Le Vélo de Ghislain Lambert'. I normally don't like sports films as they tend to be a bit cringey when you know the sport well but this one really gets the feel of the 70's scene.
  • This is one of mine, bought for a mate too;
