Campag on Pinarello FP3
Does anybody know if you can buy the Pinarello FP3 in the UK with Campag rather than Shimano? Eveywhere I see it listed it says it is only sold as a complete bike and it only ever seems to have Shimano on it.
Seems a bit wrong somehow, not having Itallian bits on an Itallian frame!

Lol! Not sure - thought that was the FP2 to be fair but you might be right!
Might be why it is sold only as a complete bike I guess.0 -
do'nt be fooled in to thinking your getting a pinarello frame, its a frame with a pinarello sticker on it.
Still a nice looking frame though.0 -
Is the FP6 any better?
Cant really work out the Pinarello range TBH. I would have thought the higher the number the better the bike, but the FP5 seems to be loads cheaper than the FP3.0 -

Try this http://www.cyclesuperstore.ie/shop/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=0&idproduct=25608 or Sigma Sport are a Pinarello dealer maybe they can build you one with Campag'Hello to Jason Isaacs'0

What is wrong with carbon parts made in the far east? They do it better than anyone else now. They've had more practise at it... just like Japanese now make (or made) the best electronic stuff.0

theres nothing wrong with far eastern made parts.
The point that i was trying to convey is that according to another thread on this forum (which i now cant find) the pinarello range up to fp4 are made by another manufacture and have pinarello stickers on them.
For what its worth benji i think the FP3 is a cracking looking bike, and if i had a couple of grand not doing much in a bank account, i would go for it. But my opinion is purley based on the look of the bike. With pinarello you are paying for the name, and you could proably get a same spec bike by trek or specalised for less money.0 -

Did I say there was?0 -
The problem is that the prices are still charged as though the bike was hand made in Italy but is in fact made in the far east. That's not to say the quality is any better or worse necessarily.
I thought the Prince was a great looking bike when I saw it at the cycle show, which I was surprised about. Still Italian design if not built. I'd have to put Campag on it.
Sorry no help with the FP2.0 -
I think the lower end Pinarellos are actually pretty affordable. You can get a full carbon 2009 Pinarello FP3 bike with ultegra for a shade over 2000 pound. I don't think that's that expensive for what it is. Sure there are cheaper bikes, but the difference is that this one gets a detour via Italy on the way over from Asia.
The prince definitely is too much though...
(by the way, I'm not trying to disagree with everyone on purpose, believe me )0
