Guitar Hero?

I am tasked with buying the above for the dorris this christmas, I am planning to just get Guitar Hero III, but then again, 'world tour' is new and about the same price, should I just buy the latter or does all the other features get in the way if the traditional?

    The new guitar hero is only really worth getting if you get the complete band pack, (guitar drums and mic) which is about £150, and is loadsa fun with a load of mates.

    Other than that, if it's just the guitar bits that you want, I would say guitar hero 3 has just as good a selection.
