Winter leg wear
Hi, could someone recommend a pair of warm winter tights please (budget of about £40)?
I've got some bib shorts, so was looking for an unpadded pair of tights to wear over the top. I've tried using a pair of Ronhill Powerlite tights, but found that they're not very warm, so was looking for something warmer - maybe windproof.
I know Wiggle do DHB Merston winter bibs for £40, so I'm not sure whether to just go for them or to have the versatility of separates as I could then use the tights for running as well.
Any suggestions?

Same here. At the moment I use a pair of Ron Hill Bikesters over my shorts, but below 5c my knees just freeze. I've bought the Merston winter bibs cos my shorts aren't very good and I think the pad in the Merstons is better. Bargain at £40.
Can't tell you how they perform yet; tried them on last week, and went to show my wife. When she'd finished laughing she took them away and I'm getting them back as a Christmas present.
I might pop them on to greet the inlaws on boxing day0 -
DHB or Lusso would be my suggestions. The Milano bibs (on ebay) are also very good value, for similar money..0

DHB are good, pad is not the best in the world, but it's not the worst eitherleft the forum March 20230 -
Have you seen the Daddy Long Legs from Groundeffect? I think they are absolutely BRILLIANT and I was impressed how quickly and efficiently they arrived'07 Langster (dropped one tooth from standard gearing)

The DHB Merstons are great value. As mentioned the pad is average and the stitching is a bit iff but they are warm and comfy which for the money is really good.0

Being a cheap-skate, 50p-£1 thick tights or leggings from just about any market with say Bikesters are fine by me! Used to borrow such things from herself when I was working outdoors in winter in Leeds nearly 40 years ago - now she prefers I buy my own.d.j.
