Can anyone recommend Aldi for winter cycling clothes?

some of the stuff is reasonable and some of it is just rubbish. I have a couple of the compression base layers and I reckon they are really good. A mate of mine has one of the winter tops, which he rates. The fleece bib tights - on the other hand - seem like fair quality but the cut is absolutely terrible, which means they are effectively useless...0

I've no experience of Aldi or Lidl, but if you want good quality, long-lasting clothing that will keep you warm that won' break the bank try dhb from wiggle.co.uk. My Merston long sleeve jersey keeps me toasty (together with a base layer) on all but the coldest of days and has been faithful for a year whilst still looking good. It cost £30.
If you've a Decathlon store near by you could also try in there as they've some good clothing too.0 -
Been looking at the Aldi stuff myself but popped into the local shop last weekend, and they had nothing in stock? Is Lidl part of the same company as I would be interested in buy something this weekend???
Also, eBay seems to have alot of 'cheap' clothing for winter use, but knowing if they are any good or not is a problem as you cannot find many reviews.
Im only after something that keeps me warm and windproof, im not fussed about waterproof as I wont be out in the rain.

I have the overshoes and skull cap from Aldi - fine for £5. The overshoes are windproof only, but they don't make any claims to be waterproof.
I also have the longsleeve winter jersey which was £20. It's quite a good fit, has windproof fabric on the front, but isn't terribly breathable. For £20 It's great but I don't exactly expect much from it. It does me for commuting.
I agree with the dhb comments above. The most expensive kit I have is the £44 winter jersey - I think it's great. Combined with merino baselayer I usually don't need any other layers. The dhb winter tights and 3/4 bibs are also excellent.
The only issue with Aldi kit is (other than you get what you pay for) that they advertise the "eekly specials" about a month in advance on their website. Things like the cycling stuff get snapped up quickly, so you really have to be there first thing to get a decent browse.________________________________

It's like anything really. You get what you pay for. I have some Aldi kit and it does the job. Period. Nothing less and nothing more.0

Bought a winter jacket two years ago, it's a Crane sport, paid 7 pounds and it's done 2 winters brilliantly, warm enough if you couple it with other layers.
Zips are not great quality, but overall did the same job as an Assos 851, I suspectleft the forum March 20230 -
I use my ALDI winter jacket and glove 6-7 days a week at the moment and I think it's pretty good. the gloves could be warmer but for like £3 or something I can put up with it. I also have the longsleve jersey which is fine, and the MTB SPD shoes which are great, I think they are actually very good for £20. The only thing which isn't so good are the bib tights which don't fit me, so if anyone wants they they can have them for £7 posted?"If we all had hardtails we'd all go down the hill, just slower"
