Loads of people in the dark without lights, also people without helmets.

When I go through Manchester city center up oxford road, I don't feel comfortable on my bike without a helmet, going to college up old Ashton road I don't wear a helmet and feel ok lol.

It makes me feel better when it's dark on my commuter and wet and my front light dies, I know I'm still better off than some of those people. But on my main bike I always have a working light I do 18 mile route around Manchester and would be insane without lights.
  • Travelling home at 0530 this am and in the space of a few minutes, I saw 8 cyclists without lights and no reflective gear, weaving from cycle lane to road to pavement. I felt like shouting at them. Wonder if their employers or partners are aware of their stupidity. A friend of mine used to ride without a helmet until I explained to his wife the possible consequences.
2 Wheels or not 2 wheels..That is not in question.

There was some research done a while back that determined that the 'dorks' who ride around in dark clothing and no lights are the of the same mentality as those who drive drunk or without insurance - I guess it's back to the Darwin thing, in the hope that natural selection gets them before they can afford a car!

I hope natural selection gets them before they have kids.

    That's harsh
