hi all,
hope your all keeping warm in these cold days!! am in the market for some nice wheels, am using hope pro 2s with tubeless kit at the mo, but i want to invest in some light wheels, using hardtail doing xc n any trails i can go down ( not doin jumps). Cycing in Ireland so loads of rocks mud n rain so can good wheels take a bashing?. i would love some feedback from anyone who has Dts 1450 or crossmax wheels, am more drawn towards the 1450s !

The Crossmaxes seem a bit expensive IMO. Have you looked at the Specialized Rovals?

Yeah, I think Crossmax are expensive too, even though I ride a set! Thoufgh no way did I pay top dollar.
Everything has to be compared to the classic XC combo: XTR hubs, 717 rims and DT Revolution spokes.0 -
speaking of custom wheels builds.
Has anyone looked at Tune hubs? Look cool, crazy light, a range of 9-20mm options
I found a german website building whels and have great prices on components. Don't have the address on this PC but I'll find it at home.0 -

Have a look here...
www.freeborn.co.uk/shop/components/whee ... pro-2-hubs
They come in at 1477g if you build them with DT rev spokes and alloy nipples. I'd beg to differ with anyone who'd say you would be able to tell the weight difference between these and the DT1450's or Mavic SLR's.
And the real bonus? At £345 you could have two sets of these for the same price as the DT's or Mavics. :shock:Society is like a stew. You have to stir things up now and again otherwise the scum will rise to the top.0 -
Yep them the fellas
found the site, got a link of the mtbr.com forumn, seen some lads going on about them there

and for the hubs

I like the look of them. was thinking of new wheel build next year.0 -
Hmmm these do look good.... Supersonic - would the Hope/ZTR be comparable to the DT Swiss wheelset in my other post?0

The tune hubs are a piece of work... they have a pair in my lbs (along with the tune cranks and bb and qr skewers) stunningly light.
If you're looking at that sort of money, then definitely go for stans rims, hope or xtr hubs, or the tune ones. Then get sapim cx-rays, it'll look better and be very light and strong.0
