Doh, I really should read the previous posts - in my defence I've only just got out of bed after a rake of night shifts
My favourite ad, and it doesn't have a Christmas theme is Charlize Theron's J'adore stripStart Weight: 128 kilos (20.2 st) (April 17th 2009)
Current Weight:119 kilos (18.7 st) (June 18th 2009)
Target Weight: 92 kilos (14.5 st) (sometime mid-2010, hopefully sooner)0 -

Now that advert is fecking annoying
Steve Bruce cringes when that ad comes on as it's his brother, I think, who plays Barry Scott.
No, it's Neil Burgess who, I think, has appeared in "Waking the Dead" - his only other claim to fame.
And that shouty voice he uses in the Cillit Bang adverts could indeed wake the dead (in the event of Brian Blessed being unavailable).

The trouble is that telly and the ads are still so much a part of everyday life for a lot of people. I was at a party last night and at one point I felt unable to contribute to the conversation because I didn't understand the 'cultural' references.

I was reading this thread before and didn't think the Asda advert played that much, but today when I was watching TV, every second advert was the Asda one lol. :P0

It's either that or the one in which Homebase attempt to flog us decorations at the moment.
Still, I have noticed that the wall-to-wall toy ads of years gone by have disappeared off mainstream telly thanks to dedicated kids' channels like CITV.
