upgrades on the cheap

hi normally in the road section sorry
. so here is the deal my commute bike died the other day and managed to releave my mate off a spec hardrock sport which he brought for 300 quid and never used totally mint even still got the reflectors and bell on :shock: . any way forks seem very soft and bars stem and seat post seem cheap. any one with any comments on these bikes or cheap upgrade tips ,dont have much money at moment so dont say sell and buy a good un :shock:

Plenty of cheap upgrades on there.
Fork would be the logical starting point. If it's an on road commute go for a rigid fork or one with lockout if you plan to take it offroad at somepoint.0 -
Good suspension forks available from 100 quid such as the RS tora. But as above, rigid would be fine for commuting.
Nothing really wrong with Speshes budget bars and posts, but you would save some weight. Save a lot more with new tyres though.0
