My BB and cranks are knackerd. after sending the bike of to my LSB. Now i maily ride XC but i do aim for every drop that i see. My LBS is a shimano dealer and maily forthe bling function i was thinking of getting saint kit put on. I have been given a price of £160 wich is ok not as low as the tinternet can get me but ok ( The guy in the shop is rebuilding me a rear wheel FOC so its swings and roundabout on the price and im not going to stiff the guy on the sale as he does a great service.)

Now for general trail rideing with drops and jumps thrown in are saint over the top or not.

Finaly should cranks and a BB last more than 11 months or with the wet weather this year are bairings takeing the brunt of it all ? I need to know as the wife is going to be giving out big time that im spending lots of cash on my bike again so soon after snapping the frame in 2.

Sounds like you want a two ring SLX crank with built in bashguard.
And maybe a Superstar or Hope ceramic BB!!

My Stylo lasted 15 months but did 3000 miles in that time.

Sounds like you treat your bike quite hard so 11 months isn't too bad.

SLX now orderd in the LBS should be in and fitted by the weekend with a shimano BB. I think you are right about the SLX and i kinda thought the same but I still want a saint equiped bike but i cant justify it costing 30% more for more weight and a bit more stiffnes. I not a big bloke so at 12st i should not be pushing the performance limits just yet. ( after x mass i may well have more insulation.)

Thanks for bheing a good sounding bord makeing be go sensible again with my wallet... if should make the wife happyer.
