Scenes From Recent Rides

I think these two photos illustrate why I haven't done much cycling recently. They were taken on my regular route.

The first was taken on the 19th November , it was a beautiful day as you can see. The second was taken the day after , when conditions were obviously very different.

Since then the weather has deteriorated and I have found it very difficult , nay almost impossible , to drag myself out. Roll on some better weather.

Anybody else lacking a bit of motivation at the moment ?

  • That's quite a contrast there.

I've had one road ride in the last 2 weeks. The weather, illlness and a temp job have pretty much taken care of getting out

Upon saying that though, I did plan on taking it really easy this month after being out most days during the summer & autumn.

Yup, big time, could easily have cycled last night, was a bit damp but not that cold. Instead got the beers in and played computer games, do feel guilty though, am definately cycling home tonight(left my bike at work past few days due to a nervous disposition brought on by the ice :x My route follows bus routes though, so no more excuses :)
  • I really do want to go for a ride (when Im at my desk at work) but when the opportunity does present itself I find a reason to not go. I noticed this morning that the Computer says "Sleep". Im sure I have been on the Turbo in the last 2 weeks, Christ I hope I have anyway.
  • Not been out for about 4 weeks due to flu and chest infection that left me with fluid on my left lung.
Feeling ok now and have 7 days off work so intending to venture out.

Also ordered new kit for xmas to motivate

What you on about? Looks like lovely cycling weather to me

Went out a couple of weekends ago and there was heavy frost and icy puddles everywhere, crisp blue sky, pale winter sun.... although I couldn't feel my fingers and toes for most of the day, it was one of those "glad to be out" days.

Despite enjoying the day, I didn't half struggle. Thought it was just the cold and not eating & drinking enough. Discovered last night that my saddle is about an inch too low! A few weeks ago I went to raise it slightly before leaving work, but it slipped down as I was doing so, so just to get home I tightened it up again and thought I'll do it properly later, and promptly forgot all about it.

It was lovely yesterday a.m. (once got away from slippy tarmac and "off road"):

    And just as nice today!
