Hey people,

I decided I wanted to get into mountain biking, doing trails and XC stuff etc. After much deliberation i bought a Specialized Pitch Pro (awaiting delivery etc).

I have my helmet , and I will be buying some suitable gloves and winter clothing.

But I guess what im looking for is some people to ride with in the North East.

I live in South Shields but I have a car which will get me to the interesting trail places.

I would like to go somewhere on my new bike on sunday this week. Where can you recommend in the North east for starting out, gaining confidence?

Also gimme a shout if you ride in groups in which i could maybe tag along sometime :)

Thanks

I went out with Hamsterley Trailblazers a couple of times, they were a pretty good bunch and fairly close to where you're at, they also run skills courses for beginners so could be worth while contacting them.

Theres some basic singletrack up there, will be good to get used to the handling if your just getting into it, or off to the skate park for some mahooooosive airtime (personally preffered the old skate park - jumping the bowl back in the day).
