I missed the build up to it this year, but it always seems to have a better, more worthy shortlist, than the normal BBC Sports Personality.

I have could see myself my voting for 4 or 5 of the 6 shortlisted. With two cyclists, a rugby player, and a guy I went to school with.

I'm not sure Shane Williams did as much as Nicole Cooke to earn the title, but I guess he'll be a more deserving winner than the other Sports Personality award.

It was obvious as soon as Cardiff City won team of the year that Shane was going to get it.

I think it was more Nicole's year to be honest; an Olympic gold and the worlds in the same year really is something.

The whole thing was an embarrassment of riches though: A truly great year for Welsh sport.

Welsh Sports Personality of the Year

This has been cancelled as the organisers can't find a Welsh person with one!

    Is there such a thing?

Go on vbc start a thread with a vote for your favourite Anglo stars. I'll vote even though I'm not English.

Difficult for him to do much more though bearing in mind that he's in a team and that team isnt working solely for him (no matter how much I scream "Throw the da*mn ball to Shane!!!"). He's as good a rugby player as Nicole Cooke is a bike rider. Very close one.
    FCN 2-4.

    "Exactly."
