Anyone know what type of headset a Cervelo Cabon Soloist runs please? Is it Cane Creek 35/45 type or the Campag 45/45 type bearings?

Also, anyone know where to buy a Cervelo Soloist 2 position seatpost?

Thanks.

Have you tried contacting the UK Distributors - Madison? They list the S3 frame supplied with a Cane Creek h/s
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

I've got a 2 position carbon post for sale Richard - quite short though, 240mm from memory. Let me know if it's any good.

Hi Rich. Many thanks, someone's offered me the longer 340mm one but if that doesn't work out I'll drop you a pm. Wonder if the 240mm might be too short? Can't seem to find the actual seat tube c-t measurement for the soloist 56cm?

My Soloist Team is 51cm centre to top and the 240mm would probably be too short for me on that (I'm just shy of 5'11"). I believe all the Soloists have the same geometry.

To be honest I think I've been stiffed by Edinburgh Bike Co-op - they sent me a 56 SLT with an alu post so I asked for the carbon one it was advertised with. They sent me the 240mm one. My saddle rail is 50mm higher than where the 240mm saddle rail would most likely be on min insertion. I just can't be a*sed to get them to swap it again.

Let me know if it is any good.

    Richard(s)

Cervelo headsets are Cane Creek 36/45 size, although the top bearing on my R3 does sit slightly proud of the head tube, similar to Campag headsets so the style of top cap is important to make sure that the bearing isn't exposed after fitting - not sure if the fit is the same on Soloists (nice choice by the way !).

Size wise - not sure if it helps but my '54' R3 has a 51 centre to top seat tube measurement - I think, from memory, that a 56 had an actual 53-54 measurement but I do remember struggling to get actual measurements when I was trying to work out the size I needed as it's not a figure that Cervelo quote in their geometry diagrams.

Best place I found to get confirmation was from owners on the forum at Cervelo.com or Weightweenies.

    Cheers

    Andy

PS - You can buy the seatposts online from Cervelo.com as well if either of the other options doesn't work out

Thanks for the help on the headset Andy.

Wanted to see if I could run my Look HSC5SL forks on it and they should go on if it's 36/45. Although whether they'd be any better than the Funda Pros is debateable I guess?

Rich - the Aluminium seatpost I've found out is £40 cheaper than the carbon one so you could try asking for a voucher or somethin gof equivalent value?

I think the 240mm post would be too short so thanks for the measurements on that.

Very excited now after getting a great deal on it new.

^^ What he said! And I'd like to add: where from and how much?!

Cheers for the heads up on the price of the alu post - maybe I'll just send the carbon one back and get something else in replacement...

ah you sound familiar from the Cervelo forum....
You know what will happen? You'll send the 240mm carbon back to Edinburgh, and they'll then send it to me to replace my alu one (I'm still waiting for my replacement... they said it would take a month, 2-3 weeks ago).
But, if you -don't- send it back,
they'll get a looong one in and send it to me..which I doubt I'll need!
    The saga continues..... :)
