Having problems fitting these. The bolt on the handlebar band requires a non-standard Allen key, seems to be 3.5mm. In trying to get one tight enough it's now rounded internally. Any suggestions on how to remove it, and whether it can be replaced for a more standard bolt - 5mm? Many thanks.[/list]

  • You need a Torx T25 but if it's stripped you can replace it with the Allen key version of the same bolt.

If you can't tell the difference between a Torx and an Allen key, should you be really be fitting these yourself - read the instructions and use the right tools if you don't know what you're doing. A Torx bit has splines so would probably still work OK with the screw.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
  • Many thanks.

I'm on a big learning curve. The manual for the shifters came with no tool instructions, also when I spoke to the retailer I bought them from, they didn't mention this.

    Thanks again.
