Well this old clamwas the oldest animal... living to a ripe old age of 405 years... until the Bangor University School of Ocean Sciences killed it by dredging it up from the seabed in Iceland.

Reminds me of this story:
In the Snake Range of eastern Nevada Donald R. Currey, a student of the University of North Carolina, was taking core samples of bristlecone pines in 1964. His coring tool broke, so the U.S. Forest service granted permission to cut a tree down so that he could count the rings of the cross-section. 4,844 rings were counted, making it at least 50 years older than the famous "Methusela" bristlecone, acknowledged as the world's oldest living thing.
