Hi Everyone

I have a Scott Aspect 45 and at the moment it has an 8 speed cassete and I am thinking of upgrading to 9 speed. Would a 9 speed fit my bike and which is best.

No probs with that but apart from chain, shifter and cassette you may also need some new chain rings - 9-speed rings are narrower than 8-speed rings.

The four largest sprockets on XTR cassettes are titanium and both XT and XTR cassettes use an alloy carrier.

It is quite an expensive process to upgrade to 9 speed, and not always a noticable benefit. I would probably do it when chain, cassette and chainrings are on their last legs.
