Commie gear set

Despite using it everyday my commie hardtail is only 3 months old and the gear set is getting quite noisy. I've been using it for mainly commuting so nothing too demanding but I'm guessing what it needs is a ruddy good cleaning out. Is it ok to use normal degreaser on my chain and can anyone suggest a good chain lube for this cold wet weather? Also i near to get a guard for my front mech, I would prefer something white to match my red and white beast.

Take the chain off, degrease, rinse, dry. Cassette is easier to clean if removed too.
Then apply a teflon chain lube carefully (halfords is good) to the chain when all is refitted.0 -
May also need a tweek on the barrel adjuster just to keep things nicely alligned...0
