noticed there seem to be a lot less people on bicycles in the last couple of weeks.

Where are all you fair weather cyclists?

Come to think of it, the traffic on the roads in London on my commute has also been much lighter in last few weeks. Credit Crunch biting? Less people working? Less construction vehicles on the roads etc?

no change up here, just no cycles today as its pretty bad snow...so seems like more cars. Otherwise traffic, cycles etc seem pretty much the same.
it looks a bit steep to me.....
  • I think the weather is putting paid to the ambitions of the fairweather cyclists. Sorts the wheat from the chaff.

I saw 3 cyclists this morning, but there were plenty of places to tether my bike, so I'm not complaining!

I'm a sorry old crock at the moment with some winter buggy thing and a bad knee so I'm giving myself some recovery time, but I did not realise that my absence was so keenly noticed.
This post contains traces of nuts.
  • 'round these parts theres a lot less cyclists, but then theres also a lot less motorists. I didn't think the recession had dug in that deep just yet. I'm think I thought wrong!

Nice clear cycle lanes. Less cars to bug you. Life is good.

until january that is when I'll probably get laid off to.

and to whoever said they'd no place to cycle to. No excuse, get out and cycle anywhere at all. Beats the hell out of having to cycle to the same place every day.

Have been at my gf's the last two nights and I don't have my bike there, so it's been the tube for me. This morning there's no way I'd have ridden even if I had had the bike.

By next Monday it'll have been almost a full week since my last ride

WTF. That is a weak, weak excuse. MTFU! I don't keep a bike a my girlfriend's - I just cycle there and then cycle to work in the morning - just as I did this morning.

MTFU Biondino - you bring shame on yourself, your girlfriend and your bike. :D

What girlfr... oh, right, yes, of course! My girlfriend! The one I'm going out with!

Tuesday I didn't ride to work, and Tuesday and Wednesday night's I stayed at my (real, honest) girlfriend's house. Sod going all the way back to mine on public transport to pick it up! Especially in the freezing and/or wet 'n' horrible weather.

  • I didn't mind the rain this morning so much, but then I do have a nice hot towel-drying thing to dry my stuff on...

    It was quite windy though.

And furthermore, excuses excuses! Come on people! MTFU FFS!

Biondino, the queston is not so much 'why didn't you go home and get your bike' as 'why didn't you just ride to work in the first place?' Hmmmmmmmm?

And boybiker, I don't understand your point about 'beating anything' so stop being a girl about it and MTFU or expect more missiles from Littigator.

Oh alright then Littigator since you asked so very nicely. Perhaps it'll teach the young man that we don't stand for moaning in my classroom.

But no more bombs after that without asking.
