i know this has been posted dozens of times before, but it's important for me.

i've been looking at a friends Giant TCR (meduim 50cm) recently and have taken it for a test ride.
the bike felt good and comfy, but the numbers don't add up, sites saying i should be looking at a large, when i felt good on a medium.
i'm 5ft 10" and have an inseam of 32.5".
am i getting too wrapped up in numbers? or should i go with what feels right from the small test ride without the numbers?
cheers

  • I'd go with your feel. Large TCRs have a very long effective top tube. The medium TCR (50cm) has a 55.5cm effective top tube. I am 5ft 11in tall with a 33in inside leg and it fits me fine.

I'm 6'1" and would get a large. Had a medium when they first came out and I was about 6'0" and it always felt slightly too small.

The medium should be fine for you.
I'm left handed, if that matters.

I'm 5'10" 178cm with 80cm 31.5" inseam. The Medium TCR is perfect for me. The 55.5cm toptube is realativly long for a medium sized frame. I have the saddle at 71cm and that gives me a 6cm drop to the bars with a 1cm spacer below the stem.
