Album - Made in the Dark by Hot Chip. Certainly gets played most by me driving into work, which is when I get to listen to most work.

Don't really have a favourite single.
  • Album: Ryan Adams & The Cardinals - Cardinology
Single: The Infadels' - Make Mistakes, really did it for me.

You know you're poor when you've bought less than 2 albums in a year!
Giant TCR Advanced II - Reviewed on my homepage
    Giant TCR Alliance Zero
    BMC teammachineSLR03
    The Departed
    Giant SCR2
    Canyon Roadlite
    Specialized Allez
    Some other junk...
  • Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid

    The Wiggles – Where's Jeff?

  • The Wiggles – Where's Jeff?

Yes, poignant lyrics and some awesome guitar riffs.

    Congrats on becoming a parent.

I'm not a fanboy (honest) but my fave album of the year is Spiritualized's 'Songs in A&E'

Gonna have to have a think about track, though....

Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid

After reading this thread last night it reminded me I had some CDs to buy people for xmas. But I ended up buying the Elbow album for myself, and more beside. I'm hoping Seasick Steve is particularly good.
  • MGMT - Oracular Spectacular & Mountains by Biffy Clyro

You live and learn. At any rate, you live
  • Metallica - Death Magnetic

The FutureHeads - The Beginning of The Twist

They may write some cracking kids songs but there's something quite sinister about The Wiggles don't you think??
All my life I've wanted to be someone; I guess I should have been more specific.
  • My favourite single was Violet Hill by Coldplay.
    Not sure about favourite album.

  • Yes, they say if you play the Wiggles 'Where's Jeff' backwards,
you can here the band chant:

    Extraordinary Rendition
    The CIA took Jeff
    etc.

    Scary stuff

    Can't pick out one so...

    Portishead : Third
    Zomby : Where were u in 92?
    Flying Lotus : Los Angeles
Hercules and the Love Affair : Hercules and the Love Affair
    Mogwai : Hawk is Howling
Nine Inch Nails : The Slip
Carl Craig & Moritz Von Oswald - Recomposed Vol. 3

Tracks I've liked most of the Hudson Mohawke (Hud Mo) output but aside from that can't pick out anything.
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.

Er, there was a Bob Dylan album released this year. So, it has to be Tell Tale Signs by Bob Dylan.

Why Marillion's double album Happiness Is The Road of course.
  • For me it has to be Mogwai's the Hawk is Howling for best album. Visceral noise! My favourite track Exploded View by Death Vessel.

Using the statistician's dream that is LastFM, my favourite track of the year is officially Yes I Am by pg.lost - check it out for yourself

Worth a listen for anyone who's listed Mogwai as a fave. I'm a sucker for the sweeping and soaringness of this type of post-rock.

Favourite album? A toss up between Med Sud I Eyrum Vid Spilum Endalaust by Sigur Ros or 13 Blues for Thirteen Moons by A Silver Mt. Zion. Probably Sigur Ros because I saw them live too and they were superb.

Track: Birds by Emiliana Torrini and Clowns by Goldfrapp

Album: Me And Armini by Emiliana Torrini
I'd rather walk than use Shimano
  • Lily Allen - Smile.

Best album of '09 will be her new one. It sounds outstanding. The fact she is outstandingly attractive is inconsiquential.

Seriously it is a great album.
  • Were there any good albums in 2008, actually? Oh dear- I´m getting old....
