Saddle buying advice

After having bent mine in a particularly unimpressive stack am looking for a new saddle for my bike (Giant XTC 3.5) but dont really have a clue what to go for.
I am after something that is falrly comfy but at the same time doesnt weigh too much. Dont really want to spend too much money on this but as a sore arse is quite usual after a ride I dont mind investing a bit more if the saddle is a bit more comfy.
After doing some research the Fizk Gobi appears to be the dogs danglies but my god its pricey! Have been on the lookout for a cheap one going on ebay but not found anything just yet.
Has anyone got any suggestions about other saddles I should be looking?

Use the search feature on this forum for loads of advice Though I think you'll find the Gobi and Charge Spoon (which I have and love) will be the results. My guide to navigating using the Garmin Edge 800

SDG Bel Air Ti, £30 from Merlin is what I'd buy at the mo. Each to their own in that department, bizarrely I didn't get on with the Gobi Fortunate really I guess as they're quite pricey anyway!0
