The Jacabat is lighter and from a local shop it has I rid it round the shop and it was really nimble and light, but barracuda its not that big of a brand so i'm not sure if i should get it? also the one at int he shop had the nicer RST Omni forks whicha re differnet to the cheap 60mm travel forks it comes with everywhere else?
The Mantra is heaver but it has slightly better forks and it looks nice but the reviews for it are mixed and some say its awful.
So what do you think i should get?

What will you be doing with the bike? The barracuda seems to be more of a jump bike and the mantra an xc/allmountain bike.0
-
The Barracuda is a truly awful bike and I would avoid like the plague. Has a touring chainset, poor 21 speed gears with a weak rear axle and terrible fork.
The mantra is better specced, but as above, what sort of bike do you want? What riding?0 -
I would use it for Offroading a bit of street and maybe jumps0
-
A tough allrounder at this money will be heavy - I think the mantra is the best bet. Try one out, see if you like the riding position.0
-
i would look at some different bikes as the mantra is better but not for what you will be doing0
-
So can you reccomend any other suitable bikes around £2500
-
Couple of jump bikes like the GT Tempest, but they will struggle on general trails and off roading due to small size and set up. Mantra wouldn't be as good perhaps on the jumps, but is much more versatile.0
-
I was looking at the Gt tempest as well as an alternative, The mantra still seems good but it is heavy, How good is the RST strike forks?0
-
the tempest is a good bike and can be pushed to do not just dirt jumping and street but dh0
-
So whats better the GT Tempest 3.0 or the Saracen Mantra 10
-
Both are good at what they are designed for ie a jump bike and a heavy hitting hardtail. What is best for you depends on you.0

Is this a good price to pay for the Mantra
