New Turbo Trainer

I've just purchased a turbo trainer to try and make the most of the miserable winter months. Can anybody advise on useful routines to do?
I think these things are meant to be used for shorter but more intense training as opposed to simply pedalling merrily for 2 hours......
Many thanks, by the way more details on the purchase here:

If you try the Tacx webpage they've got a selection of downloadable PDF files, there's about 8 in total for "hill climbing", "sprint", "base endurance" etc etc. Doesn't matter if it's not a Tacx turbo you're using.
All pretty straightforward stuff, buy slightly less mind numbing than watching the seconds s-l-o-w-l-y tick by...Wind. Cold. Rain. Pick two.0 -
I just invested £5 in Smart Cylcing by Arnie Baker from amazon, because it has a 12 week stationary trainer workout in it. The rest of the book seems pretty useful to, by the way.0
