Rust on New Cassette?

I've got a pretty new cassette (Campag Veloce with less than 300 miles on it) and there appears to be some rust on some of the teeth already.
Is this normal. Is this bad?
Is there anything i should add to chain, wipe on teeth to remove and prolong cassette life?
Thanks.

Could be down to poor plating on the steel cogs or maybe you are not cleaning / lubing enough :?
Anyway clean the chain and cogs, lube well, a bit of rust won't matter and will probably wear off.He is not the messiah, he is a very naughty boy !!0 -
this is perfectly normal for campagnolo gear which has a poor finish.
Maybe time to switch to Shhhhhh you know componants which have a much heavier nickle finish and are generally better looking and better made items.0 -

This is certainly not normal! I've never had rust on a Campag cassette!0 -

Shimano must be really bad then, I got a new 105 cassette this week and it came brand new unused with rust on......
If you leave any cassette wet or muddy after a ride it will rust, no matter what brand it is (unless of course it's an expensive full Al- or Ti-alloy cassette).0 -
It is normal if you havent cleaned it after a wet ride.
You will get rust on chain and cassette even after two days if you don't clean it.
It will be ok as long as you clean it asap and also the chain and it will probably need re lube now also.0 -
