A hypothetical question really, as I’m not likely to upgrade in the near future, but if I went from 4 year old Easton EC 70s to some nice new EC 90SL forks, would I notice an appreciable improvement in performance? There are lots of hills around here, so the weight gain would help, but would that be it?

Also, what is the deal with straight and curved forks, are straight forks more ridged, curved more comfortable?

I don't think you'd notice much performance difference, just that they're a bit lighter.

Also, the choice between straight & curved forks is just an aesthetic one.

I reckon changing tyres would make more difference to how the bike feels.
