Milram thinking of leaving sport

The german over reaction continues.
Although, with the economic climate I'm sure many sponsors are going to be re-evaluating their positions.

It might be less to do with German over-reaction and more to do with the fact that, well, they're sh!t. Nineteenth ranked team, only ahead of Scott in the ProTour teams and down among the other big budget squads such as Barloworld, Acqua + Sapone and LPR.
Their best rider in 2008 was Zabel in 35th spot.
If Milram aren't on the podium sharp-ish in '09 with all their new talent, there's no point throwing good money after bad.'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'0 -
i dont think the germans are over reacting
sponsorship in cycling is too risky imo0 -
I wonder how many other sponsors wish they had a get out claues for next year? With the econmic climate and the product association with drugs.0

Rock Racing do have a get out clause: they will leave the sport if one of their riders tests negative next year.0

Brief statement on the official website. I'd guess this could end up a bit like the T Mobile situation where Nordmilch may have to finance the team next year and they'll ride under Van Gerwen's VeloCity until another sponsor can (hopefully) be found. If Van Gerwen had any idea that Mischel was leaving Nordmilch then i don't understand why they've thrown money at signing Gerdemann and Ciolek.0
