hi i am josh i have a specalized big hit with an 02 frame the frame with the 24 inch rear wheel i need new forks but dont know how much travel i can put on it what is the maxim i can put on it plz help me its my first good bike

for a 02 Big hit i look at a 180mm fork Max . I would not go for the shivers as they are TOO heavy.
Yes they were great fork in their day.
Even some 160mm SC forks will be fine. I would not go to 200mm as they do not work well on the early BH frames (But some of the Boxxers were OKish..)"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Complete '02 Bighit bikes came with 170mm Marzocchi junior Ts.
Marzocchi forks tend to have a slightly longer crown to axle length for a given amount of travel so other peoples 180mm travel forks should be the OK still.
I've got 170mm Marzocchi 66s on my '03 Bighit. Same frame as yours.0 -
would i be able to put 200mm boxxers on it or marzochi 888 or would they snap my frame0
