  • dmr v8's are great pedals got some myself and havent had anything wrong with them
  • there are lots of things that can cause creaks, and most of them sound like pedals! TBH, most pedals nowadays are pretty much ride and replace items, you can normally pop off the end caps and the lip seals round the axle and fill them up with grease but you should be looking for new ones.

wellgo MG-1 are considerably better than the DMR v8's, and can be had for around £25 on ebay.

Could be the BB creaking, have you checked everything is tight? Before you go buying stuff check it first. Also, I'd disagree with the ride and replace about pedals? Nowt wrong with a bit of maintenance and TLC...

Could be the pedal itself needs the cones tightening up or the bearings cleaning, what pedals have you currently got (sorry if you've alread said, couldn't see it above).
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

    I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
    Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result
