Hi All
I had a lucky escape this September when a lorry knocked me off the bike into the road and then rolled right over me! Fortunately I didn't get squished but my Trek 1400 wasn't so lucky:

I came away with bruising and a sprained wrist despite finding myself completely under the lorry, between his front wheels. Anyway I'm now back on the bike that you see below, which has risen like a phoenix from the wreck of the old:

I couldn't salvage much from the Trek - just sti levers, chainset, pedals and mechs. I got an audax frame from Nelson Cycles and all the new parts from the internet, and had fun putting it all together. "Nelson" and I have now done 200+ happy miles and I'm looking forward to many more!

  • I picke d aguy up after a very similar accifdent last year. Both he and Specialized Allez emerged unscathed. The jar of pasta sauce in his pannier was even intact. I was terrified as to what i'd find when I got there. I trust you went straight out and bought a lottery ticket?

Seriously though, bike looks good, glad you're back up and about.

  • Thanks. Yes the ambulance driver said the same about a lottery ticket!
