Can't believe the Veyron was only 5th fastest around the track. Guess it's a bit too heavy

Anyone else watch it?

I wasn't expecting it to be fast actually - 'tis very heavy.

  • it sickens me to think that it took only 10 mins for some-one to condem it on this site! its taken me 3 hours to prize my butt off the sofa!

it may not be the fastest round a short track and that track is designed to test handling and blah blah blah. all of got to say is...

would you complain if you had one?

Not complaining at all, more upset about it than anything else  , The car is an absolute masterpiece in my eyes. Really wanted it to do well, and thought it would cream it

...and no i wouldn't complain if i had one. In fact i wasnt complaining to start with, merely a comment on my disappointment

  • To be honest, I had a feeling that it wouldn't make the top. The pagani seemed it would be obvoiusly faster round their track.

    Oh but the sound!!

It does weigh nearly two tonnes - that a LOT!

Its still not exactly a milk float round the track is it, i mean 1.18.3 (i think) is still a blisteringly fast time and had the track been a full size GP circuit im sure it would have been at the top.

Ive gotta say i absolutely love the car in white, its like a piece of modern art in motion and MUCH better than the silly 2 tone colour schemes they're usually in.
  • I'm sorry, the zonda did look a whole lot better, me and my housemates sat there slackjawed at the cosmetic weave...

If I every buy a car, it'll be naked carbon...
  • What it gains in extra power it obviously loses in the corners due to its lardiness. After all, it annihilated the Zonda in a drag race.

I agree, the Veyron looks good in pure white, but that Zonda in naked Carbon!!!

Not too keen on the Zonda at all. I'm not keen on how it looks. too OTT for me. Again....i wouldnt complain if I had one!! Like the sound however. Like an F1 car. Mercedes V12 was it? Ooof!

The Veyron is just fab. Pure fantasy, but fab all the same 8) . Now.... the sound that makes is just orgasmic!

  • £40k, a trifle compared to £750K for the zonda...
  • preferred the zonda :)

but then again i preferred the gumpert 8)

I saw a Veyron in the flesh (roundabout at the bottom of Deansgate) and the guy in the van lowered the window to talk to me

"Did you see that??!?!? a Veyron !!"

"Er yeah, but what I was going to ask you was how do I get to the A57..."

  • i saw a veyron being followed by a TVR speed 12 (i think there is only 1 road legal one, but i may be mistaken) on the M40 going to silverstone...... i liked the TVR much more, and i was in no way biased

Bloody hell, what a lot of sad car-spotters you lot are. I bet neither of them would go as fast as me on my Meta 5 across Ilkley Moor.......

Did you see the Audi R8 on Survivors? What a dream that would be. No traffic on the roads. Oh, and no bluddy bikers getting in the way and jumping lights

Mazda something or other. The one with the Wankle engine, sounds pretty good when it's floored. And goes like runny shoot off a VERY shiny shovel

I was insured on the inlaws F355 Ferrari for a while

Mazda RX8 is okay but has NO torque and guzzles fuel - I bought a Golf R32 instead! Now sold though

A mate of mine has the newest shape Audi RS4 all blacked out (no chrome) with an MTM supercharger - about 550bhp!!!

Grew up around Porkers, Audi Quattros and the like - Dad had a few so I was a car nerd from a very early age! His maddest was a 400bhp Ford P100 V8 engined pick up :lol:

£825,000 Zonda F - F1 inspired body and chassis will keep it's driver safe even in a huge crash. Can take a passenger.
My motorbike - less cornering speed, no protection from the elements, high likelihood of a horrendous crash.

Bikes are fast but I'd rather take up naked winter sea swimming than have one.

Ive seen a Carrera GT, McLaren SLR, numerous ferraris and a few Lambo's in york, i can only assume they've come from or are going to the hilton hotel here.

The only car ive yet to see is an enzo but im not a big fan of those anyway really. The carrera gt on the other hand sounds better than god and puts all other cars to shame in the noise department, the zonda f does come a very close second though.

the new nissan GTIR the rebirth of the skyline faster than an enzo round the nurmbergring and quicker than a gt3 round the fifth gear track. Dont if you saw it but its the one that put clarksons neck out it has that much grip
