Were the 36's original equipment? Seems like a lot of money just to lose a bit of weight. Any axle issues, are the 36's 9mm QR or 20mm bolt through etc, might need to have your wheel rebuilt with a different hub
I have the Talas 32 RL (OE on a spesh stumpjumper) and find them pretty good for everything I do which is mainly XC and trail centres from time to time, certainly seem stiffer than my REBAs on my XC bike.
Another thing to consider is how much you use the Talas adjustment, if you move away from the Fox forks and go for say one of the Rockshox Uturn models they work in a very different way.
Might be worth getting new wheels first, any reduction in rotating weight would be more noticable to bike handling than a weight reduction in the forks, if you played it clever there are hubs out there now which can be swapped from one standard to another which would overcome any axle issues if you do change the forks later. It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.
I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result0 -
New Revs look very nice and you could keep your current front wheel. I agree with jon though, lighter wheels will be felt more than lighter forks."Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0

will 4X wc 08 fit the steerer tube fit a kona scrap 07 medium0

If both are for 1+1/8th inch headsets, which I assume they are, and the steerer is long enough, yes.0
