There's no point to this post other than I've just ordered next years commute/sportive ride . A Trek Madone 5.2 Pro is on it's way early in the new year, wooohooooo
My only dilema is do I keep my old Trek 1.5 for winter commutes and go for the madone 5.5 with a better spec, or keep the old girl and stick with the 5.2?
I had the enviable task of testing both the Trek Madone and the Giant TCR this morning, which has reallly opened my eyes. I did wonder whether there'd be any difference to the old 1.5, or indeed any difference between the two carbon bikes. carbon is a massiive step up in terms of stiffness, and I now know what the bike test are on about when they talk about a dull or lively ride. For the record I found the Giant extremely stiff but generally dull, whereas the Madone still felt stiff, but was a lot more lively, it just wanted to be ridden hard
