It could be worse... you could've mounted the speedo at the tip... or even put a aero waterbottle there with one of those spouts... that'd sure look strange, seeing you drinking from a helicopter's vantage point.

Strangely, there is a tiny hole at the tip, it had a little rubber gromet in it.0
