Multiple windows open- halts Opera

When I open several tabs/pages it halts opera, CPU use is 50% on a dual core and I cannot change tabs, I have to force Opera to end. Other forums work fine with multiple tabs open, and also having lots of other sites with no problems.
Say... That's a nice bike..

    Just opened 14 tabs in Opera, albeit duplicates of 4 new posts. CPU is around 30% think dual core. This with FF open in 5 tabs too. Are you using the latest version of Opera?
    I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

    same with firefox. My PC has just locked up again. 100% cpu on bike radar . Can't even end process in Task Manager
