Spec looks average for the money, but the frames are supposed to be light. Very racy XC set up with short forks and long frame. Try one out, may be too long for you.0 -

You are right about trying it ....only prob is every bike i try i end up wanting!!Live Each Day0 -
For that money it is very good! It is possible that the forks could be extended to 100mm (RS all travel), and a shorter higher stem wpuld relax the ride a little. But as we know, testing is the only way really.
Is it a fast XC bike you are after?0 -
Maybe......I might be in the market for just about anything that looks fun though
Excuse my general lack of knowledge.....but what makes it a fast xc bike?
I am after something good quality......think iv decided on hardtail and above that i have no set definate ideas......hmmmmm?Live Each Day0 -
Depends what you want to ride and where! Racy XC bikes tend to have a long, low and steep riding position for maximum effeciency. Great for racing, and for fast rides where the terrain isn't too taxing. However they can be a little more uncomfortable than say a more relaxed 'trail' bike (some manufacturers call these XC bikes just to confuse matters!), which with the more relaxed angles and upright position are more comfortable, easier to handle and a better all round bet for the majority of off road conditions a beginner would face.
An example would be this (remember you can raise the seat!)

You can see the shorter stem, longer forks, shorter more upright position and slacker angles.
Again, only a test will show ;-)0 -
And the saddle on the DBR - bloody hell! Looks too narrow for a bloke nevermind a 'girlie' lol.0

Ah yes, i see what you mean.....kinda obvious differences when you know what youre looking at.
Having had motorbikes in the past i have to admit to liking going fast 8) lol
But the technical stuff is appealing to me too .....oh god, im going to end up with loads of bikes.....itll be more a case of which one do i get first!!! hehe
