Well, it looks like being a cold and windy/gusty day tomorrow.

My first ride to Richmond Park is planned so will it be a test in 2'C and 20-30 Mph Gusts??

I should hit the park at around 7-30-8am so if you see me please give me a wave and a shout of encouragement 8)

Those are merely midsummer riding conditions up here in the frozen wastes of Yorkshire

    (slipping into "Four Yorkshiremen" mode)

    "That's nothing.....

...up in the proper north of Perthshire it's SO cold that I have to melt the grit before I can spread it on the bathroom floor to get to the shower. 'Course there's no water as the pipes are frozen.

Then I go to the garage fighting the polar bears on the way.

Once I do get on my bike the wind is SO strong I have to get off and push it on the flat.

Tell the young people of the south that and they don't believe you" :D
  • Goddam it, the fens are going to be even colder, windier and less inviting than usual.

Oh and I just found my Patagonia base layer unwashed in the Hotpoint...I am going to freeze solid in the morning aren't I?!

Unwashed.....who cares...you won't smell it in the driving wind.
I've got a club run tomorrow and we are expecting 1 degree C and 20mph winds from about 9 am onwards! should be challenging.
17 Stone down to 12.5 now raring to get back on the bike!

2 degrees and 9mph winds forecast in the midlands for tomorrow morning - shame I've still got man flu, no chance of riding this weekend :(
Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos

Pretty damn nasty weather this a.m. Forecast snow was "just" very heavy COLD rain. Soaked and dirty - having stupidly taken out the only bike without 'grds. Too filthy even to go in the cafe by the Beeston Canal and have a warming coffee!

I'm just back from a day out walking in Shropshire. I'm glad I wasn't on the bike today. It was NASTY. Gales, torrential rain, hailstones, sleet, snow, not to mention bluddy cold. Saw a car on its roof on the way home

Scotland has a bit that's flat!! Who knew :D

It was a bit breezy and wet in Wales yesterday (what a surprise Wales, wet!) a tough ride with a gammy kneck. felt great afterwards though

  • Am I odd to be cycling back in my shorts?

My Cycling trousers are those baggy tights (Yes that looks even stupider when written down) which when wet make me even colder so I fear shorts only is the way to go until my tight tights (Yep, getting even more farcical now) arrive. COME ON WIGGLE!
  • You should see my Dad's postman he arrives in the village, runs everywhere and wears shorts all day in absolutely any weather. nice guy tho totally certifiable

  • There's a guy like that round my town walks about in shorts and t-shirt

    Hard-core 8)
  • I will never moan about cold/wet/wind again etc because I saw hard men doing Honister Pass last Sunday. I would not make it even on a summers day in my present condition, so to go up there in that sleety cold muck:
    Respect. :D

    I will one day tho'...
