Road Stem

I'm after a new stem for my Giant SCR. 90mm in length and I'm open minded on the angle. After hours of looking at every bike shop on the web I can not make up my mind. Any suggestions/recomendations?

Cycling Plus reviewed a bunch of stems recently, and the Pro LT did very well at a decent price. I bought one and am very happy with it, though I'm not particularly discerning - it's a piece of metal that keeps the handlebars the right distance from the rest of the bike

Shameless plug
If it's for standard 26mm bars i have a nice Ritchey stem for sale on a well known auction site.

My next stem will be Syntace - they've been getting some very good reviews lately - stiff as you like.0

Depends on your weight and how you plan to ride (specifically will you want to sprint or ride hard) but Pro PLT or the Deda Zero100 are both good functional and cheap options. 98g may be a bit light - the very light stems I've had have been too flexible for my liking. I'd rather save a few grammes elsewhere.
The Pro LT is a little weedy and cheap and IMO the OS-99 is overpriced and too light! There' something to be said for matching brands of finishing kit on your bike but you don't say which SCR you have so hard to say...0 -

Aren't there a bunch of different SCRs? Anyway if your bars are 31.8mm (oversized) Pick up a Deda Zero 100 - £36.25 on Ribble0

Syntace, Ritchey WCS, Thomson X4 and X2, nicer FSAs...
depends on whether you are OS or std, and how much of a weenie you are.Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0 -
What does matter is the stack height if you want to keep the amount of spacers under the stem the same. Some stems are 40 mm and some are 35 mm. I have an FSA OS-99 which is 40 mm and an ITM that is 35 mm. This is a measurement that is often overlooked.0
