You would all love it over here! Work has sent me over for some Conference thing and I am sooo gutted not to be cycling over here.

Pretty much every bike is a Single Speed but the most impressive thing is the attitude of drivers. I saw a couple of cyclists nip up the inside of a lorry who was half a second away from doing what would be a left hand turn and both the driver and passenger were well aware of their presence and seemed in no way upset about the manoeuvre, which would have been considered shocking over here. Everyone is very much courteous on the road; i am a bit shocked just how different it is! And if you haven’t noticed, very Jealous! :)

Could not live here though, no hills! There are some lovely looking Classic bikes here as well, unfortunately i don’t have the knowledge to identify them

Spraff over :)

Take some pics for us back at home, show us all this cycling utopia.
Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule #12 // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
Rule #42 // A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run.

Not only that but it's a great place for a weekend trip. It's a lovely city, in my opinion.

  • Hi All,

Sorry for the poor reply time, its been a nightmare at work! I wish id had a camera to get photos for you all. The most amazing bit is the sheer number of bikes not locked to anything. That video is ace btw, really gives you an idea of how many bikes there are out there!

If anyone gets the chance i would recommend it is a trip but beware its a very expensive place to visit!

Bets there's no fat people either!
  • Copenhagen is fine. It has descended into a city of high streets with the ubiquitous big-name brands. Now its not much different from London or Dublin in that regard, which is disappointing. It would be a good city to traverse by bike though, thats for sure. I was there a couple of years back and saw some guys out on a training spin. They looked bored out of their minds. As someone else said, theres no hills. How the hell did they ever produce Michael Rasmussen?

    Actually, don't answer that.......!!!

Two things about Copenhagen worth knowing before setting off for this cycling nirvana - it's expensive. Really expensive.

    Seee?

And if you have hayfever, don't go in the Summer. I only have mild hayfever, but I couldn't see for streaming eyes when I went there.

    Lovely place, for sure though.
