The brakes are fine at the front but the back cable is proving to be very difficult.

T he cable goes from the lever through the plastic casing and fixed to the brake disk caliper with an pinch bolt.
Problem is when squeeze the cable it doesnt trigger the caliper to brake the disk rotor
It gives an gentle pull nothing really certainly not enough to lock the whee have l tighten the pads all the way they can go touching the rotor almost now this is the lever wihch doest have the cable all the way through the plastic guide see pictures cant take it halfords as cant be fixed till next year
If can have some help thanks.
Its another problem where to put the rear cable as want to swing the headset to its full limit without resistance from the cables.
Also the damn crank from the pedals inner tapers have worn out so the pedals wont screw in.
Am not impressed with halfords latest cheapest bikes wish just got v type brakes rim brakes these disk brakes are pain in the arss.

I think you may have summed it all up here mate. I would try running the adjuster on the lever all the way in and if the rear brake has one then do the same with it then pull on the inner cable as hard as you can while you tighten the pinch bolt on the caliper. If that still gives you no joy have a nosy around the caliper. Wouldn't surprise me at all to find out it is missing a brake pad.

    Hope this helps,
