I caught a nasty bug a couple of weeks ago which meant i was bed bound for a few days, and i thought the best way to get back to normal would be to go back to work and go out for the occasional gentle ride. Although every time i go out on my bike i have little energy and just cant push myself.

Two weeks on and i am still suffering and feeling crap. Should i be steering clear of exercise? If so, would this have a dramtic impact on my fitness as i have a race in two weeks!

any help advice would be appreciated!! :D

If you still feel weak then pushing yourself will make you feel worse both physically and mentally. Go easy and keep the rides short. If it's getting cold outside then best avoiding riding altogether. As for the race you may not be able to do it if you are feeling that way now.

I'm on day 2 of a chest infection, 8 miles to work and back and felt fine. Can feel a bit of weakness in the legs but no tightness in the airway. Though I am avoiding taking my HR over 180.
