Can anyone help with wheel weights?

Hi,
Currently have a set of Bontrager Ranger wheels with shimano hubs, with a Deore cassette... Have bought second hand a pair of Mavic d521 rims with DT Swiss DB Lightweight spokes and hope hubs with an XT Cassette..
Are these wheels any lighter,(hope so!) and are the two cassette's compatable or will i have to put my old one onto the new wheel?
