Right, mavic open pros and conti gp4000 tyres.
Spend four hours today better described as canoeing on a bike rather than cycling... However when I was cleaning the bike (flash floor wipes - bike cleaning genius, but i digress) I noticed a gurgling sound when I rotated the rear wheel. Kind of odd, so whipped it off and found water inside. I think it was between the "layers" of the open pros (as I cant see how it could get into where the tube sits,
Now the little nut that goes round the valve stem was missing (i tend to fairly chilled about whether these are on or not), so I'm guessing water has got down the valve hole and started filling up the wheel. Anyone heard of this? Seems bizarre.
Though I know now why I was crap on the hills today

Nothing to do with the valve retaining nut, it gets in past the spoke nipples.0
